This model portrays how the societal pressure to force girls into marriage harms not only the girls but also the families and society as a whole. This perpetuates the vicious cycle of poverty and prevents the community from progressing beyond harmful practices like child marriage without education. The girls lose their opportunity to study and earn, and the families remain trapped in poverty. It highlights the irony of the girls' families being responsible for their abuse or death due to childbirth, marital rape or domestic violence, while being controlled by the society. The pandemic worsened the situation for the girls who were forced into marriage, as they were voiceless and had no platform to voice their opinions. I have depicted my response to this situation through this model, which shows how the girls can resist the force and rebel back using masks with motifs inspired by black mourning bands.
